Settling In

It is hard to believe I've been in Miami for a month and a half already. It has flown by! Things turned into such a whirlwind that I haven't even had time to update my blog - or even worse just write in my journal! I haven't wanted to pause to think. I've just been trying to soak it all in and go with the flow. It has been an amazing time already.

I moved into a house on South Beach with about 10 people living in it - hooked up for me by a girl I had kept in contact with since meeting her on a Vegas trip. Moving was quite a leap of faith, a random opportunity that I jumped on. That is a lot of people to get to know very quickly! It was all very overwhelming at first but it feels like home now, and I feel very lucky to have made so many friends here already!

I had some great luck my first week in Miami. I booked two commercials right off the bat - one of them for a SAG national which has finally given me my union eligibility. That is something I'm very happy about! In the following weeks I shot my commercials, did a runway show for Cotton 24 Hours, and got to work an event for Hermes playing games on the beach all day (rough job, I know, haha). I'm getting to know my agents at Next better, and I'm so happy with my placement there. The weather is always shifting here, but South Beach is warm and the air feels clean. I've been able to keep active easily going on jogs and walking everywhere. I took some classes at a boxing gym, tried reformer Pilates for the first time. There is a delicious juice bar right in my neighborhood. To say I'm happy is an understatement. This just feels like the perfect place for me to be right now. I'm in my spot.

In fact it feels so perfect here that all I can say is that I am absolutely not thinking about leaving. I had thought coming here that maybe after a couple months I'd move back to LA. The longer I am here though the more the sun seeps into my skin, and the more content I feel. Forget the LA traffic - I can put on my headphones and walk wherever I want to go! The lifestyle is so much nicer here. I just want to stay... at least a while longer...
